How to apply concrete stain for beginners. This video tutorial goes over eight important steps that can help any beginner feel comfortable applying concrete stain for the first time. That is to say DIY or “Do It Yourself” projects can be a little intimidating to say the least. Luckily we got your back! With a little help from University of YouTube’s top concrete professor CretoSeal you will feel confident hopping into your first concrete staining project.
This video goes over what kind of tools that are required for a concrete stain application. It also goes over the differences when applying an acid based stain or a water based stain. There are tips on how to get a consistent look from the stain or how to apply multiple colors and make them blend well together… and more! These eight tips along with the other “how to” videos featured in this blog will put you on the right track to flawlessly stain your concrete properly, the first time.
Expert Tip Not In The Video
One tip not mentioned in the video is practicing with the pump sprayers before using the stain. You can fill the pump sprayer with water and practice spraying your sidewalk or driveway with the water. If you’re spraying the concrete and the water evaporates quickly, you’re probably applying it a little light. If the water takes a long time to evaporate, then you’re probably applying it a little heavy. Use a bucket to start and end in so you don’t get spurts or drips onto the concrete. This process really helps if you don’t have experience using pump sprayers.
In conclusion, screwing up a stain job can be a nightmare… trust me! It can be really difficult to redo a stain after it’s been applied to the concrete. That’s why it’s so important to get it right the first time. Watch these videos and if you still have questions you can contact me through the contact form on the home page.
