Green Concrete Sealer
By “green” concrete sealer we don’t mean green the color, duh! We mean environmentally friendly, yay! VOC’s in sealants typically are not acutely toxic, but have compounding long-term health effects. Volatile Organic Compounds have been linked to throat and skin irritation, headaches, nausea, and even some forms of cancer. Typical solvents are aliphatic hydrocarbons, ethyl acetate, glycol ethers, and acetone. Motivated by cost, environmental concerns, and regulation, the paint and coating industries are increasingly shifting toward aqueous solvents but not fast enough.
Creto DPS
Creto Deep Penetrating Sealer (DPS) is the one and only green concrete sealer on the market that is permanent (one time application), breathable, and holds hydrostatic pressure. This unique product hardens and strengthens the substrate while neutralizing the pH of the slab. Creto DPS also reduces or eliminates freeze-thaw damage, mineral effervescence, and bacteria growth. Application of this green concrete sealer is easy, using a traditional mop to apply, sealer is allowed to dwell for 30 minutes, then excess sealer is removed with water or a wet mop. Since Creto DPS is water based it doesn’t destroy the planet and your health like most other concrete sealers on the market today. Creto DPS is odorless and VOC free meaning it does not require a respirator to apply. This product is non-flammable and can be applied with street clothes and basic latex or nitrile gloves.
