How to Resurface Worn Concrete
I found a quick article on how to resurface worn concrete on ThisOldHouse.com. The article talks about a damaged concrete walkway and how to repair it using a concrete overlay. This process is fairly cheap and takes only one day to execute. Some of the best advice is in the comments below the article. They are actually more informational than the article itself. It also includes a shopping list and required tools for the job. I would personally add Creto DPS to the shopping list for maximum strength and adhesion. Read the article below.
Creto Deep Penetrating Sealer (DPS) can be added to the concrete overlay mixture at 25% of the water added. After the walkway is thoroughly cleaned, Creto DPS can be applied to the preexisting concrete before the overlay mixture is applied. The idea behind this process is for the Creto DPS to cure through the preexisting concrete and the new overlay making it one substrate. Creto DPS crystallizes through both substrates, binding them together and preventing any delamination of the overlay. It also protects the concrete from water damage, oil and salt penetration, and freeze/ thaw damage while leaving the concrete completely breathable. You will see the results when you use Creto DPS on your next concrete overlay project.
